The Conley Group Foundation has received several letters and emails from recipients of the Christmas Stockings. These soldiers wish to express their thanks and gratitude for the support that has been shown to them.
One sailor writes, "Myself and most of my shop want to say thank you soo much. You guys put a HUGE smile on everyones faces and everyone looked like little kids opening their stockings up." "It's like a little touch of home."
Another soldier said, "Just wanted to drop ya'll a note & say THANKS! Really appreciate you stuffing and sending the stockings! I've shared the goodies and they say thanks also."
"The box I received was awesome and I cannot fathom the amount of people and work that was put into gathering together and sending these things. I want you to know that there are many thanks for this package. Thank you for all that you have done for me and also for the many other troops who receive your packages." writes a soldier from Iraq.
Regarding the Christmas 2010 Shipment, we received the following:
Dear Conley Group, Foundation
This is Specialist Bryan Bunker and my platoon wants to thank you so very much for the Christmas stockings you sent us. I can not express the gratitude and heart lifting expressions my fellow soldiers showed when I handed out the stockings. It really means a lot to us over here in Afghanistan to know we have people Stateside supporting us. For many of us, this is our first deployment and first time away from our familys and then on top of that away from our families during the Holiday season. I know I personally am experiencing the hard time being away for my daughters first Christmas she is able to open her own presents and your boxes personally lifted some weight off my shoulders. My troops are extremely grateful for the "pick me up" packages.
Sincerely
SPC Bryan Bunker
PS if you could also pass on the great appreciation to the other individuals who made these stockings happen, we would be grateful. |
